Before Eidul Azha, livestock markets are busy, but buyers are irritated by the high costs.
With only three days left until Eidul Azha, people are swarming to the city’s cattle markets to purchase sacrificial animals. But many consumers are unhappy and leaving empty-handed as a result of the substantial price increases.
The intense heat during the day has caused most of the action to shift to the night, and citizens are visiting several livestock markets to compare costs.
Large numbers of animals are being transported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and several regions in Punjab. Goats are typically quoted at more than Rs 100,000, according to sellers, although prices are typically negotiated down by Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.
Similar prices range from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 300,000 for sheep, up to Rs. 200,000 for desi goats, Rs. 200,000 for cows, and Rs. 300,000 to Rs. 1 million for bulls.
Buyers claim that sacrificing an animal has gotten more challenging due to inflation, with prices approximately 50% more than the previous year. Collective sacrifice shares are reportedly priced per person between Rs. 32,000 and Rs. 40,000.
Livestock dealers claim that they were compelled to raise rates due to growing fodder prices, transportation costs, and other expenses.
Concerns about inadequate security measures in cattle markets have also been voiced by the public, who have pointed to challenges with parking, weak policing, and suspicious activities at night.
Pakistani actress Sarah Khan has addressed a question about whether she had hoped for a son during her second pregnancy, saying that she and her husband, singer Falak Shabir, only wished for a healthy child.
During a question-and-answer session on her Instagram account, a fan asked if she wanted a baby boy while expecting her second child.

“My life has become more beautiful. I am busier than ever. It’s the best time of my life, and I love my daughters. They are Allah’s greatest blessing upon me,” she said.
The actress added that her biggest goal as a mother is to raise kind and compassionate human beings and wished for all married women to be blessed with healthy children.
Sarah also revealed that she is “obsessed” with her husband, Falak Shabir, while joking that their daughters are even more attached to their father.
The actress recently earned praise for her performance in the drama Sher alongside Danish Taimoor and is set to appear in an upcoming Geo TV drama opposite Feroze Khan.
