Nadeem Afzal Chan warns PPP could withdraw support for govt
Nadeem Afzal Chan, the leader of the PPP, has declared that the government has failed and warned that his party may eventually stop supporting the current administration.
Nadeem Afzal Chan stated that in order to find a cooperative solution to the nation’s problems, all political parties must put aside their individual agendas and work together.
He stated that he supports Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s position that all parties involved should unite.
He believes that Mohsin Naqvi’s position and reasoning are valid, and that the media and parliament should have a serious discussion about this.
The PPP leader stated that as a political worker, he believes the current system is ineffective and that the moment has come to decide whether the nation should adopt a presidential system or a parliamentary one.
According to Nadeem Afzal Chan, the seriousness of the problem is demonstrated when the interior minister himself exhibits concern about the state of affairs in the nation.
He claimed that President Asif Ali Zardari was unaware that Mohsin Naqvi would make such a declaration, and that the PPP was likewise taken aback by his recent remarks.
In addition to criticising the administration’s performance and declaring that it had failed, the PPP leader made it plain that the party might choose to stop supporting the government at any time.
He also stressed during the discussion how important it is to have a wide-ranging political conversation in order to address national problems.

The board informed that 97950 students appeared in the examinations of Class 9. Out of these 39,103 candidates were pronounced successful and 57,847 kids were promoted to class 10. “Overall pass percentage of class 9 examination stood at 99 per cent.
A total of 95,496 students appeared in class 10 annual examinations. The results reveal that 66,988 candidates have passed and 27,788 candidates were ruled unsuccessful. The overall pass rate in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part II tests was 70.2 percent.
Post announcement, the board congratulated all the successful students on their performance and expressed the hope that they would continue to flourish in their academic pursuit. The board also wished the students a bright and successful future.

The ready market saw a volume of 785.361 million shares as opposed to 880.951 million shares a day earlier while the traded value jumped to Rs33.140 billion as compared to Rs24.957 billion.
The market capitalisation rose to Rs19.953 trillion against Rs19.755 trillion a day ago.

The government has slashed the cost of kerosene oil after cutting the costs of fuel and high-speed diesel.
Kerosene price reduced by Rs3.58 per litre after drop in pricing of petroleum products announced last night.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has decreased the price of kerosene from Rs305.22 to Rs301.64 per litre in an announcement.
The Petroleum Division in a statement last night for August 4 announced a Rs4.08 per litre drop in the price of petrol, making the new price Rs331.95 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel has also been cut by Rs2.45 a litre to Rs389.93 a litre.
