No proposal for new provinces on agenda, existing system remains effective: Rana Sanaullah
Rana Sanaullah, the prime minister’s adviser on political matters, stated on Tuesday that the administration has no plans to establish additional provinces and that Pakistan’s current parliamentary system and constitutional framework are still in place.
The top PML-N politician told a private television channel that the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections were free and fair and that the party had gained public support because of its track record of development and governance in Punjab.
He expressed optimism that the PML-N would also perform well in the remaining phase and eventually form the government in Azad Kashmir without coalition partners, claiming that the Pakistan Peoples Party had approached the second phase of the elections with a propaganda campaign.
In response to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s criticism of the electoral process, Rana stated that Bilawal was aware that the polls had been handled fairly and that the PPP will accept the results following the last round of voting.
In response to inquiries concerning plans to establish new provinces, Rana Sanaullah stated that the PML-N has not convened a conference to deliberate on the matter.
He claimed that neither Pakistan’s parliamentary democratic system nor the 1973 Constitution had any flaws and that the federation had survived political upheavals, military actions, and unstable times during the previous fifty years thanks to the constitutional framework.
Rana went on to remark that the inability to apply the Constitution in its true spirit was the underlying problem, not the system itself, and that if constitutional principles were properly upheld, the current system would continue to function.

The board informed that 97950 students appeared in the examinations of Class 9. Out of these 39,103 candidates were pronounced successful and 57,847 kids were promoted to class 10. “Overall pass percentage of class 9 examination stood at 99 per cent.
A total of 95,496 students appeared in class 10 annual examinations. The results reveal that 66,988 candidates have passed and 27,788 candidates were ruled unsuccessful. The overall pass rate in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part II tests was 70.2 percent.
Post announcement, the board congratulated all the successful students on their performance and expressed the hope that they would continue to flourish in their academic pursuit. The board also wished the students a bright and successful future.

The market opened the day at 178,200.02 points, the previous closing level, and traded between 178,768.83 points intraday high and 178,023.65 points intraday low.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index a day before staged a tremendous rebound by adding 2,105.91 points, a positive shift of 1.20 percent, to close at 178,200.02 points against 176,094.12 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market saw a volume of 785.361 million shares as opposed to 880.951 million shares a day earlier while the traded value jumped to Rs33.140 billion as compared to Rs24.957 billion.
The market capitalisation rose to Rs19.953 trillion against Rs19.755 trillion a day ago.

The government has slashed the cost of kerosene oil after cutting the costs of fuel and high-speed diesel.
Kerosene price reduced by Rs3.58 per litre after drop in pricing of petroleum products announced last night.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has decreased the price of kerosene from Rs305.22 to Rs301.64 per litre in an announcement.
The Petroleum Division in a statement last night for August 4 announced a Rs4.08 per litre drop in the price of petrol, making the new price Rs331.95 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel has also been cut by Rs2.45 a litre to Rs389.93 a litre.
