Uzbekistan appreciates Pakistan’s positive contribution in mediation for regional peace
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar had telephonic conversation with Uzbekistan FM Bakhtiyor Saidov.
The two presidents discussed bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest including Pak-Uzbek relations and regional issues.
FM Saidov also welcomed the efforts of Pakistan in mediation for regional peace and security and said it was constructive.
They said they’d keep in close touch.
Pakistan and the US had indicated a day earlier that they will continue to engage as Ishaq Dar met Paul Kapur and discussed bilateral relations and regional issues.
During the discussion, the two parties shared views on important regional problems and highlighted the need of sustaining positive interaction between the two countries.
Dar has welcomed the recent visit of US Vice President JD Vance to Pakistan, calling it as a constructive move towards further enhancing diplomatic cooperation.
The foreign minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to resolve issues via conversation and diplomacy and stressed the significance of peaceful solutions to address regional difficulties.
He also expressed delight at the recent good trajectory in Pakistan-US relations and commended the increased cooperation in a number of industries.
Both of them highlighted the necessity for further high-level interactions and genuine engagement to further enhance ties.
Paul Kapur praised Pakistan’s contribution in mediation process at regional level and said the bilateral relations were progressing in positive way.
The two officials agreed to expand cooperation in trade, investment and development with a view to building a stronger and mutually-beneficial alliance.

Farooq Sattar says 28th amendment to be presented before budget
Farooq Sattar said MQM’s proposed local bodies amendment was an important aspect of the 28th amendment in the constitution.
“All parties except the People’s Party are in favour of the amendment,” stated a MQM leader. “The People’s Party’s claim that nothing could be done without it will collapse,” Mr Sattar added. “There are many things that could happen without the People’s Party,” he remarked.
“First time a President was given immunity”, said Farooq Sattar, adding that the PPP has enjoyed a prolonged political space.

Teenager drowns in canal near Sajawal
— A 13-year-old child drowned while bathing in Pinjari Canal in Sajawal, a city in Sindh province, on FridayThe tragedy occurred in village Gul Ghayo near Sajawal where 13-year-old Abbas was taking a swim in the canal to beat the heat when he slipped into deep water and drowned.
The deceased body of the youngster was removed from canal on self help basis by local neighbors and handed over to his heirs.

Govt slashes kerosene price, revises fuel duty on petrol, diesel
The federal government has cut the price of kerosene oil by Rs7.23 per litre and also revised the petroleum charge on petrol and diesel, according to official notifications.
According to the revised rates announced by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the new price of kerosene oil has been determined at Rs311.73 per litre against the previous cost of Rs318.96 per litre.
The fuel price was dropped by Rs9.24 per litre to Rs108.17 a litre from Rs117.41, Petroleum Ministry sources said.
In contrast, the duty on high speed diesel was raised by Rs9.40 a litre to Rs52 a litre from Rs42.60.
The Petroleum Division had announced a Rs5 per litre drop in the pricing of both fuel and high-speed diesel.
After the change, the new petrol price is Rs409.78 per litre and high-speed diesel Rs409.58 per litre.
The revised fuel rates have come into force across the country from midnight, according to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division.
