IG Sindh issues a stern note on the purported protocol provided to Anmol Pinki.
The Inspector General (IG) of Police has formally addressed the purported procedure extended to Anmol, also known as Pinky, a “cocaine supplier” apprehended in Karachi, who appeared before a court on May 12, 2026, unhandcuffed.
Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has acknowledged the occurrence and requested a report from the Additional IG Karachi, while also mandating a transparent investigation.
Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar stated that the accused disclosed certain names during the preliminary inquiry and indicated that additional arrests would ensue in this matter.
Conversely, Sindh Government spokesperson Saadia Javed informed that law enforcement has apprehended a significant narcotics supplier. She stated that measures would be implemented against any police personnel discovered to be complicit in supporting Anmol Pinki’s network, and if any prominent individuals were implicated, legal proceedings would also ensue against them.

Rain lashes city, nice weather in Lahore
The province capital Lahore and its surrounding areas saw lovely weather early Wednesday morning as strong winds along with rain lashed the region.
The rain that began in the early hours of Wednesday also disrupted electricity in parts of Lahore as numerous feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped, creating discomfort to the people.
Details said rain was reported from Defence, Ghazi Road, Ferozepur Road, Walton, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Gulshan Ravi, Jail Road, Gulberg, Garden Town, Kalma Chowk, Sanda and other areas of the city.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has anticipated that the rain spell will continue today.

Security personnel in Balochistan were praised by the President and the Prime Minister for removing 17 terrorists.
- President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Tuesday, thanked the security forces for conducting successful intelligence-based operations in various regions of Balochistan and expressed their gratitude for their professionalism and bravery.
The President Secretariat Media Wing said in a press statement that the president appreciated the effective counter-terrorism operations in Mastung, Noshki, Zehri, Khuzdar and Kech districts that led to the elimination of 17 terrorists.
He reaffirmed that the total elimination of the menace of terrorism, sponsored and backed from outside, was a major priority.
President Zardari said that the malicious objectives of Fitna al-Hindustan and its sponsors would never succeed.
The prime minister lauded the security forces for murdering 17 terrorists linked with Fitna al-Hindustan and working under Indian patronage, the PM Office Media Wing said in a news statement.
The sacrifices and services offered by the military forces and law enforcement agencies in safeguarding the country’s security and stability were highly treasured by the nation, he said.
The prime minister said the accomplishments made by the security forces in the fight against terrorism were a reflection of the collective commitment and solidarity of the whole nation.
He reiterated that the malicious goals of terrorist elements acting under Indian backing would be prevented at all costs.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further emphasised that counter-terrorism operations would continue until full eradication of terrorism from the country. He reaffirmed that the administration was standing shoulder to shoulder with the security forces and law enforcement authorities to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
Prime minister pledged to decisively combat every conspiracy hatched to undermine Pakistan’s peace, stability and development.

One dead in vehicle accident in Karachi
Late Tuesday night in Karachi, a motorcycle that was being ridden by a person who has not been named was struck by an unidentified vehicle, resulting in the death of one individual.
The tragedy took place at the Jam Sadiq Bridge in the Qayumabad neighbourhood of Karachi, where an unidentified car collided with a motorcycle due to the rider’s excessive speed. The rider of the motorcycle was killed instantly.
Upon receiving the information, the police and rescue personnel arrived at the location, and they transported the deceased person to Jinnah Hospital. It was determined that the deceased individual was Shakeel, who was forty years old, according to rescue sources.
